While it's been confirmed that the Kenobi series will take place ten years after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, the framework for the tragedy of Anakin Skywalker is laid out during the prequel trilogy era, and it would do well to return to that time period through flashbacks.
With McGregor and Christensen returning, the new series can give us a properly fleshed-out, live action version of the complicated Master/Padawan relationship – the relationship that serves as the catalyst for the entire Star Wars franchise.
